Richard Gibbons, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
I have worked at a variety of mental health facilities for approximately 20 yrs in the field of Behavioral Health Services. The agencies served have been Public and Private-Non for profit facilities serving Adolescents, Adults with Mental Health challenges and Addiction Programs; both in Residential and Outpatient settings.
My specialty has been dealing including addiction, PTSD, anger management, anxiety and depression management, and other related character disorders for adolescents and family members affected by chemical dependency using holistic approach medical model of addiction within a family systems viewpoint.
Stress reduction, anxiety and depression are addressed through Positive Psychology and Mindfulness Meditation. I encourage, and try to empower my clients, through introducing them to the “Power Of Intention and the Law of Attraction” to inspire clients to work toward Knowing who they are ; where they are headed in life, and to try to become the best and most awesome version of themselves, and to help them move toward self actualization.
My eclectic approach to therapy also includes a Cognitive Behavioral Approach (CBT) to Counseling Psychology. At the outset of Therapy I like to have my clients, with my help, Set specific goals the can meet throughout the therapeutic process.
In addition to my work in the field of Social Services, I have worked as a carpenter (in order to pay my way thru college), as a Roofing Sales Representative, and during the first three years of Covid, I drove an 18 Wheeler Cross Country. These experiences have given me a knowledge and empathy for the frustrations of the American worker. I am also a three time cancer survivor, and a Liver Transplant recipient, which again has taught me about survival, gratitude and how to utilize the positive mindfulness for pain management.
In my spare time, I enjoy my horses, riding and collecting Motorcycles, and I'm a Private Pilot.
I have taken Post Master's level training at UNT under Paula Englander Golden, PhD. and David Golden, PhD. in Family Systems and “Say It Straight” Training at the University of North Texas.

Alexus Brown, LMSW
Licensed Master Social Worker
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker who specializes in working with children and adolescents. I believe in taking a client centered approach to help clients manage and overcome stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, and mood fluctuations through psychoeducation and other therapeutic modalities. I work hard to support my clients and come from a gentle, warm, and empathetic perspective. I constantly seek additional training and knowledge to better serve my clients’ needs.
In my early career, I worked in foster care with children who had suffered the intense trauma of abuse and neglect. This experience left a special place in my heart and has been a driving factor in my work. I believe everyone should have a fulfilling life and seek out the things that bring them joy.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, spending time with my partner and our pets, and being outside in nature. I love trying new foods and experiences and feel like there is always something new to learn. For me, self-care includes pampering myself, sitting outside near a body of water, and eating good food!
I look forward to working with you!
